Don’t you just love…
…that early morning knock on the door that raises you from your slumber? You know it can only be one person- the postman who is bringing you delicious parcels of books! And even better we (no not me and the Postman) are going into London today to meet with friends and are going early so we can hit the bookshops! So tonight I will come on and list my haul (is that wishful thinking?) for today and also the past weeks acquisitions!

Dewey by Vicki Myron and bags of books!
Last night I finished Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat who Touched the World by Vicki Myron. I had first started this a few months ago and then put it down to read something else but after getting tired of moving it around on my side table I picked it up a few days ago to finally finish it. I have mixed feelings about this book, it was enjoyable and a lovely tale but I did find my attention wandering. However I do want to say that this could be through no fault of the book, I am a bit obsessed with getting through the books this week to make up for the past few weeks of not really reading! If you are a lover of books about books and libraries then I am sure you will enjoy this one.
However next is exciting news- today I am picking up some bags of books from a lady who put them on freecycle! So excited! I have no idea what books they will be but she says it is a range of horror and modern fiction. I haven’t got a clue where I am going to put them but hey I will deal with that when we get to it! Will update later with a list of the haul:)

Trip to the charity shops
I restrained myself and only came away with three books.
First Among Sequels by Jasper Fforde
Sepulchre by Kate Mosse
The Last Town on Earth by Thomas Mullen
I haven’t heard of the third one but it looks like an interesting read, has anyone read it?
On friday I am contemplating a trip into London to meet with friends and might have to visit some bookshops while I am there!

Reading Slump
Why does this keep happening? I seem to be in a continual reading slump where I half read books one after another and cannot settle on one.
At least it’s half term now so I can have some guilt free reading time! I am currently reading The Camel Bookmobile by Masha Hamilton, really enjoying it so far!
One thing that hasn’t slumped is my book buying ability, so many new books have come into the flat recently!
I am also still eagerly awaiting Collections on LibraryThing, I have a week off so it is the perfect time to set up everything! What are the chances of it happening though?

Agatha Raisin and the Murderous Marriage by M.C. Beaton
I love the Agatha Raisin series but I do not think this was the best of them, however I have read a few of them in recent months so maybe I just need a break from them! Agatha is becoming more loveable as a character but there was just something missing I feel. However that won’t stop me from reading the rest of the series!

Introduction
Over the past few years I have kept an on/ off blog at various sites so that I can keep a record of books I have read and keep contact with other book loving people. WordPress is new to me and my final aim is to link it up with my website so I have everything in one place. So welcome to anyone who stumbles across my little part of the internet!

Keeping the Dead by Tess Gerritsen
Read this all in one evening, a real page turner! This is only the 2nd or 3rd of hers I have read and I will search out some more. I am also reading Dreams from my Father by Barack Obama and trying to decide what fiction book to read next. I suppose I should read one from my challenges list!
Does anyone else find it really difficult to keep track of challenges, knowing what should be posted when and where? I think this is why I am so bad at finishing them because it takes so much time up!

Currently reading….too many!
I have got into that bad state where I am picking up different books to read so I now have about five on the go! I normally try and stick to one book, maybe even two but now I am getting fed up with all my books really quickly. I hate when this happens! Does anyone else ever have this problem?
